Reports now suggest that the World cup winning skipper has decided to retire from cricket. He has opened up about this to his close ones, but the 38-year-old is yet to have a word with the BCCI officials.

“I have a strong gut feeling that Dhoni would still make to T20 Squad. His presence is very important for the team as his contribution is immense for binding an innings” said Keshav Banerjee, Dhoni’s childhood coach in an interaction with a leading sports website.

After the lockdown for 21 days was declared by the Government of India to arrest the spread of COVID 19 virus, there have been speculations that the IPL 2020 might get canceled even if the lockdown was called off.

This is because even if the lockdown period was called off, there would be still a great number of restrictions on the organizing of the events.

The coronavirus infection has brought the complete Cricketing world to a standstill. All the domestic, national and international leagues were canceled in the wake of the spread of Coronavirus infection. This decision was taken by all the Cricketing boards after the health ministry of their respective nations declared that, mass gatherings for any event would result in triggering the infection.

Not only this the Cricketers who had returned from foreign tournaments were advised by the government of their respective countries to practice self-isolation for a period of 14 days.
