Monty Panesar Clarifies That He Wasn’t Blackmailed By BCCI

Former England spinner Monty Panesar has given clarification that he wasn’t blackmailed by anyone.  Earlier this week, Monty Panesar has told that Political agendas have been on a different level and he has given the reason to English Cricket Board (ECB) and Professional Cricket Association (PCA) that participating in KPL will impact his visa or denial to travel to India for any cricket related work. Here is Monty Panesar About BCCI.

Panesar has confirmed now that it was solely his own decision to opt-out of the Kashmir Premier League, “I haven’t been blackmailed by anyone. I have been given the advice I understand the consequences and it’s my decision. So pipe down,” tweeted Panesar.

Panesar clarified few hours after he mentioned that he would not be participating in the Kashmir Premier League.

“I have decided not to participate in the KPL because of the political tensions between India and Pakistan over Kashmir issues. I don’t want to be in the middle of this, it would make me feel uncomfortable. #KPL2021,” tweeted Panesar.

Panesar needs to clarify this because Pakistan fans have accused Panesar on Twitter stating that BCCI has blackmailed you successfully.

One of the fans has written stating – “By not participating you actually accepting the BCCI narrative of politicizing the game only because it is a rich cricket board and they thought they will do whatever they want to do,”

Replying to one of the Pakistan cricket fans, Panesar wrote: “I’m sorry I can only follow the advice given by @ECB_cricket @PCA. So I am staying home buddy.”

KPL will consist of 6 teams competing against each other which will be a round-robin and later playoffs will be played. The Top Four Teams in the Points Table of KPL will qualify for the Playoffs and the tournament will be started on the 6th of August and the Final will be placed on 14th August 2021.
