Justice (retd) Deepak Verma, the Investigator, restored former Indian captain Mohammad Azharuddin as the President of the Hyderabad Cricket Association on Sunday. The five members of the HCA Apex council ‘suspended’ Azharuddin from his duties for suspected violations of the board’s constitution. let’s look at President Of The HCA
President Of The HCA
The HCA’s investigator issued a preliminary decision disqualifying vice-president K John Manoj, R Vijayanand, Surender Agarwal, Naresh Sharma, and Anuradha for the time being. Conflict of interest charges was made against Azharuddin.
In an unexpected turn of events, Verma noted in his decision that no official complaint had been filed against the former Indian cricketer and that no information had been submitted to the investigator. The case has no legal basis due to this.
“The Apex Council on its own accord cannot take such a decision. Therefore, I deem it appropriate to set aside the resolution (if any) passed by these five members in suspending the duly elected President, issuing a show-cause notice and direct them to refrain from any subsequent actions against the President of HCA, Mohammed Azharuddin,” Verma said in an Interview.
The High Court has given the authority For Justice (retd) Verma to function as an ombudsman
According to Justice (retd) Verma’s order, Azharuddin will resume his responsibilities as president, and any allegations against office bearers would be determined solely by the investigator. “From the aforesaid facts and features, it is clearly reflected that instead of encouraging the game of cricket, each one is playing their own politics for the reasons best known to them. Thus, it defeats the very purpose for which HCA has been formed,” Verma had said.
He further added, ”the apex council can’t neglect the process of law by saying that they don’t agree with the appointment of Verma”. “ It is clear from the above, that these members have deceptive intentions and do not want smooth functioning of HCA,” he concluded.
