Several cricketers have come forward to help the needy people, who are in horrible conditions because of the coronavirus outbreak. Understanding the situation, Mithali Raj, the former Women’s Indian captain has pledged to donate a large sum to the Prime Minister’s Relief Care Fund.
The coronavirus epidemic continues to wreak havoc in various areas in the country. Each person is locked in their homes to avoid being infected with the virus. From the rich to the poor, no one is safe at the moment. So, governments have declared a lockdown in the respective states.
India Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a lockdown in India on March 24 for 3 weeks to stop the rate of coronavirus spreadings. The transmission of COVID-19 has taken many lives worldwide. And, this is the main reason why the Indian Prime Minister has made such a difficult step.
However, the poor are dealing with a big blow based on their daily earnings. So, Narendra Modi urged every Indian to start providing some kind of assistance as part of their valuable cooperation in this tough situation.
Mithali Raj also joined hands in the fight against coronavirus
Former India captain Mithali Raj has now come forward to help the poor and needy people. She took it to her social media handle and informed about the contribution. The 37-year-old said he was donating Rs 5 lakh to the PM-Cares Relief Fund and Rs 5 lakh to the Telangana Chief Minister’s fund.
The former India captain shared a post, “We all have to join hands in this fight against the deadly coronavirus. I pledge my small contribution – Rs. 5 lakh for PM – Cares Fund and Rs 5 lakh for Telangana Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. #PMCARES @ PMOIndia @ Narendra Modi Ji @ TelanganaCMO.

Mithali Raj played 10 Tests, 209 ODIs, and 89 T20Is, in which she scored 9915 runs in all formats.
Earlier, players such as Suresh Raina, Gautam Gambhir, and Sourav Ganguly contributed vast amounts to Prime Minister Relief Care Funds, to assist those who have suffered somewhat during this time.
