Maxwell To Miss Pakistan Tour, Likely Start Of IPL Due To His Wedding

Glenn Maxwell has stated that Australia would be without his services during the forthcoming historic visit of Pakistan. In early March, the 33-year-old is planning to be getting married to Vini Raman, and now he will be absent from cricket activities for that time. Owing to his marriage ceremony, he would most likely skip the beginning of the Indian Premier League  (IPL) 2022. Here is why GlennMaxwell To Miss Pakistan Tour & Likely Start of IPL 2022.

Maxwell is the favorite to captain Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) this edition after Virat Kohli stepped down from the position last year. As a result, the franchise don’t want to be missing him in the opening games. Maxwell, on the other hand, had officially indicated that he would be unable to participate in the Pakistan tour owing to his wedding in November, last year.

I organized the dates with Cricket Australia: Glenn Maxwell

Australia will play 3 Tests, 3 ODIs, and a lone T20I in Pakistan, which they will visit for the 1st time in 24 years. Due to the conclusion of the T20I leg on April 5, a number of other Australian players, notably David Warner, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Marsh, and Marcus Stoinis, may be expected to miss the initial IPL matches.

Maxwell explained that the conflict between his wedding and cricket commitments was essential owing to frequent scheduling revisions. “Originally when I organized the dates with CA there was a two-week gap where I could potentially have it,” said Maxwell.

“So when I sorted that out I was pretty happy that I wasn’t going to be missing in any series. And then I came to the [CA] contract meeting midway through last year and they said well this is [when] the Pakistan series [is on] and I thought well obviously that’s changed since the last conversation we had,” he added.

In the meantime, Maxwell is playing for Australia in a five-match T20I series versus Sri Lanka. The Australians have already sealed the series after winning the first 3 matches, but they wouldn’t mind a clean sweep.
