Match Prediction For St Kitts & Nevis Patriots vs Jamaica Tallawahs 7th Match | Caribbean Premier League 2019 | CPL 2019 | SNP vs JT

ABOUT THE MATCH

St Kitts & Nevis Patriots welcome Jamaica Tallawahs to Warner Park in their first home game of the 2019 Caribbean Premier League on September 10.

After away defeats to Trinbago Knight Riders and Guyana Amazon Warriors, the Patriots will be hoping to start their block of home matches with a first win of the campaign. They have already seen Devon Thomas hit his stride as he scored 62 against the Warriors last time out.

Jamaica Tallawahs also lost their first away game, to the Knight Riders. They have signed some big players for this season, however – Chris Gayle switching from the Patriots in one of the most notable of those.

TOSS PREDICTION

Jamaica Tallawahs won the toss in their first game and elected to field, as has been the trend so far, and St Kitts & Nevis Patriots will no doubt do the same if the coin drops their way.

PITCH AND CONDITIONS

Temperatures could still be touching 30 degrees Celsius in the evening in the Basseterre, with a very low chance of rain and only the odd cloud around.

Traditionally a lower-scoring wicket than some of the others in the Caribbean, the Warner Park pitch produces an even game between bat and ball. The first-innings average of 160 in this competition shows there are still runs to be found, however.

PROBABLE PLAYING XI OF St Kitts & Nevis Patriots

Kjorn Ottley, Evin Lewis, Mohammad Hafeez, Jason Mohammed, Devon Thomas (wk), Carlos Brathwaite (c), Fabian Allen, Afif Hossain, Rayad Emrit, Alzarri Joseph, Sheldon Cottrell

PROBABLE PLAYING XI OF Jamaica Tallawahs

MATCH PREVIEW

St Kitts & Nevis Patriots

  • St Kitts & Nevis Patriots stuck with the same team for both of their away defeats, with Kjorn Ottley playing his first T20 match in the opening game of CPL 2019 and late replacements Alzarri Joseph and Mohammad Hafeez also featuring.
  • Their bowling was punished last time out, with Afif Hossain among the options to switch things around Usama Mir could make way.
  • St Kitts & Nevis Patriots have lost both matches they have played so far. Sheldon Cottrell took 3-13 against Trinbago Knight Riders in the first game but, chasing 153 to win, the Patriots were all out for 141.
  • Last time out, Devon Thomas’ half-century lifted them to 153/8 against Guyana Amazon Warriors but that proved below par too.
  • The Warriors won by eight wickets with seven balls remaining.

Jamaica Tallawahs

  • Late replacement Jerome Taylor played in the opening game but Kennar Lewis – another late addition to the squad did not.
  • The Tallawahs lacked top-order runs in what was always going to be a difficult chase but their top six was the strongest it could have been on paper and changes are less likely.
  • Jamaica Tallawahs lost their opening game to Trinbago Knight Riders.
  • Chasing 192 to win, they lost wickets at key intervals and were never really close to the required rate as they could only reach 169/6 despite some big hitting from George Worker and Andre Russell.

PROBABLE WINNING TEAM:

St Kitts & Nevis Patriots might be outsiders but with Sheldon Cottrell’s bowling and some useful batting contributions, they have shown they have the tools to upset those odds.
