Match-Fixing ‘Kingpin’ Ravinder Dandiwal Arrested

Punjab Police arrested alleged bookmaker Ravinder Dandiwal:

On Monday, Punjab police arrested alleged bookie Ravinder Dandiwal for having a connection with the current T20 match played in the city Mohali but online streamed as a matched organized in Sri Lanka. The match took place in June and had caught the concentration of the Anti Corruption Unit of BCCI, Sri Lanka Cricket Board and Punjab police.

The Kharar deputy superintendent, Pal Singh confirmed to PTI that “Ravinder Dandiwal was the key player of the whole racket, and was arrested on Monday. He is in police remand because of having a connection with investigations of the T20 match.”

Pal Singh further added that “His involvement in the whole racket is being further investigated. From him, Police got some mobile phones, laptops, and some documents. Primary investigations exposed that Ravinder Dandiwal had hosted fake matches previously also.”

On Tuesday, the BCCI ACU will be in Chandigarh to collect information on Dandiwal. For his previous bad deeds, he had been continuously on the eye of BCCI for some last four years.

Ajit Singh,  ACU chief of BCCI told PTI “Whatever we will get any kind of information about Dandiwal, we will inform all it to Punjab Police to help them in the process of investigation or whatever information we can get from them, we will take it. Our whole team will come from Delhi capital.”

“Ravinder Dandiwal has arrested for organizing the T20 match that was depicted as  a T20 match take place in Sri Lanka but actually that match was happening in Sawara village.”

On Thursday, the police got major clues about Dandiwal from the other two evidences, Raju and Pankaj.

On Friday, the media reported that the T20 match played on 29th June in Sawara village, which is near to Chandigarh but online streamed as a ‘Uva T20 League; game in Sri Lanka’s Badula. It is the home of the Uva Province Cricket Association (UPCA). Both Sri Lanka Cricket board, as well as UPCA, denied any kind of involvement in the matches.
