Major League Cricket Season 2 Schedule: There is good news for all cricket lovers in United States and all around the world, as the Major League Cricket (MLC) will begin on July 6 (IST).
The Major League Cricket will consist of 19 matches, beginning on July 6 and concluding on July 29. Church Street Park in Morrisville and Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas are the two venues which will host all 25 games of the MLC season 2.
The league will feature some of the most prominent players, like Pat Cummins, Quinton de Kock, Andre Russell, David Miller, Faf du Plessis, Marcus Stoinis, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Travis Head, Glenn Maxwell, Nicholas Pooran, Trent Boult, Lungi Ngidi, Rachin Ravindra, and Shimron Hetmyer to name a few.
MI New York won the inaugural edition of the MLC last year by beating Seattle Orcas in the final match. Both the teams will play the season opener of the second edition on July 6.
How many teams are participating in Major League Cricket?
Six teams, including San Fransisco Unicorns, Los Angeles Knight Riders, Texas Super Kings, Washington Freedom, MI New York, Seattle Orcas – will compete in the 2024 Major League Cricket.
What is the format of Major League Cricket?
The six teams will fight in a round-robin format for 21 matches.
The playoffs, which begin on July 24 includes the eliminator and Qualifier 1, will be contested by top four teams in the standings after the round-robin play.
Similar to the Indian Premier League’s playoffs, the top two teams will play in Qualifier 1 to earn a direct spot in the final, while the third and fourth-placed teams will play in the Eliminator on July 24.
The victor of the Eliminator will face the loser of qualifier 1 in challenger to secure a place in Major League Cricket’s final match.
