Lords Stadium Offers Help To Medical Staff Fighting Corona Outbreak

Medical Staff Can use the Stadium’s Parking Space

When the whole world is trying to deal with the fallout of the corona outbreak, many famous people and organizations are coming forward to help battle the troubling times.

Now the historic Lords cricket stadium’s parking space has been offered to be used as a parking space for Staff at Wellington Hospital, University College Hospital, and the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth in London.

The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), which owns Lord’s cricket ground, has decided to extend its support by giving the parking space of the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London to the medical Staff.

Besides the parking space, the MCC has also decided to provide storage facilities for the Wellington Hospital.

The cricket club released an official statement which read,” In light of the current situation regarding the outbreak of COVID-19, MCC has been in continuous dialogue with Westminster City Council as to how the Club can utilize elements of Lord’s Cricket Ground for the good of the community.”

It also added,” MCC has currently provided 75 parking spaces at Lord’s for Staff at Wellington Hospital, University College Hospital, and the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth. We are also providing storage areas for the Wellington Hospital – which is situated very close to the ground.”

MCC Is Also Providing Food

The Club, also, is helping provide some food to City Harvest Hospital by making use of excess food utilized sustainably.

It said, “MCC has provided food to City Harvest London, who help put fresh surplus food to good use in a sustainable way, redistributing to organizations that feed the hungry.”

The United Kingdom has reported 22,444 positive cases of corona with 1,411 deaths according to the data compiled by Johns Hopkins University on Monday.

In a similar fashion in India, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has offered the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata to be used as a quarantine facility if the government wants a few days back.
