Namal Rajapaksa, Sri Lanka’s Sports Minister, has also slammed the trio for their lack of discipline, adding that the SLC should take harsh measures against them. Furthermore, following Sri Lanka’s whitewash in the three-match T20I series, the players have been subjected to even intense pressure.
“Opportunity & time can be invested into youngsters to represent the country, in an attempt to revive #Srilanka cricket. However, playing with a lack of intent & poor discipline should not be tolerated. @OfficialSLC must take strict action against players who violate these rules!” Namal’s tweet read.

Furthermore, Kusal Mendis, Danushka Gunathilaka, and Niroshan Dickwella have all been ruled out of the following limited-overs series against India. In an interview, an SLC official verified the news and indicated that they might be banned from international cricket for an extended length of time.
‘It Could Be Anywhere Between 3 Months To 1 Year,’ Says The SLC Official
Although no formal announcement has been made, the SLC is expected to take serious measures against the players. “It could be anywhere between 3 months to 1 year,” the official said. Sri Lanka will play England in the opening of a three-match One-Day International series at Chester-le-Street on Tuesday, and they are seriously short on batting options.
Due to a lack of options in the batting group, Oshada Fernando may be expected to begin the innings alongside Kusal Perera. Pathum Nissanka is also anticipated to play at third base and bat. Charith Asalanka is also set to make his ODI debut, and the lineup appears to be weaker on paper. After what happened in the T20Is, the visitors will be expecting to put up a fight.
