Taking to Twitter, the Indian opener-cum-middle order batsman appealed the people to ignite the spirit of billions of hearts and throw Coronavirus ‘off our pitch.’ There are currently 2784 active COVID-19 cases across the nation, with 75 deaths registered.

Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya also posted on Saturday a heartfelt message urging the country as a whole to unite in the fight against COVID-19. The Indian all-rounder, taking to Twitter, championed Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s appeal to turn off the lights on Sunday at 9 p.m. and light a Diya, lamp, torch or flashlight for 9 min. He also extended his support to Prime Minister Modi and urged the people to ignite the spirit of Team India’s one billion high.

“Let’s shine our lights on the Frontline Warriors who are showing us the path from this darkness,” Pandya tweeted.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his address to the nation on Friday, asked people to light a candle, Diya, torch or handheld flashlight for 9 minutes for their time on Sunday 5 April to mark India’s fight against Coronavirus.
