KL Rahul, Axar Patel Pulled Out Of T20I Series Against West Indies

Rahul, Axar pull out of West Indies tour

India were struck with a big setback before their 3-match T20I series versus the West Indies after KL Rahul & Axar Patel were pulled out for the remainder of the series. Rahul will miss the series after suffering a hamstring injury while fielding in the second ODI between the 2 teams.

Axar Patel has also been kept out of the T20I series since he is reportedly healing from Covid-19. Ruturaj Gaikwad, a right-handed batsman, and all-rounder Deepak Hooda have been replaced in the Indian team for the three-match T20I series.

Team India displayed their superiority against West Indies in the ODIs

Rahul and Patel will now be sent to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to heal from their ailments. The T20I series involving India and the West Indies will begin on February 16th, 2022. The series’ second and third games are scheduled on February 18th and 20th, 2022, accordingly. All of the games will take played at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens Stadium.

In addition, before the T20I series, India and the West Indies have played a 3-match ODI series, in which even the hosts presently lead upon winning all 3 games. The ‘Men in Maroon’ were absolutely dominated in 3-ODIs, as the Rohit Sharma-led team has indeed won the series.

Despite India hammered the West Indies by 6 wickets in the first ODI, they defeated the ‘Men in Maroon’ by 44 runs in the second encounter and won by 96 runs in the 3rd ODI to demonstrate superiority to their rivals in every aspect of the game.
