KL Rahul Scored brilliant half-century

The wicket-keeper batsman KL Rahul scored another half-century in this series. He hit an unbeaten 57 in the match. Rahul showed consistency in every match he has played recently.

Shreyas Iyer missed a well-deserved half-ton

Iyer played a responsible innings with KL Rahul and led the Indian team to a comfortable win against New Zealand team in the 2nd T20. He scored 44 runs in 33 balls and was caught off Ish Sodhi’s bowling.

Shivam Dube scored 8 runs and also hit a brilliant six to finish the match.

Tim Southee picked up two big wickets

The New Zealand pacer made Rohit Sharma depart in the first over and provided a crucial breakthrough to his team. He also picked up the wicket of Indian skipper Virat Kohli in his third over.

Earlier, Martin Guptill gave a good start to the New Zealand team by scoring a terrific 33 runs off 20 balls. He was caught off SN Thakur’s bowling.

Sir Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah shine

Jadeja picked up 2 wickets in his consecutive overs and bowled with a good economy rate. Bumarah also bowled well by picking up 1 wicket in his 4 overs spell. All bowlers bowled well by conceding fewer runs in their respective overs.

Virat Kohli misses a record

Virat Kohli missed a simple catch after taking 2 good catches and missed out on matching Suresh Raina for the highest number of catches taken in T20 matches.

Currently, the Indian Jonty Rhodes, Suresh Raina, holds the record of highest no.of catches taken – 42. Virat Kohli follows it with 41 catches until now.

Indian team now leads the T20 series 2-0.
