The Karnataka born Indian cricket players KL Rahul and Manish Pandey communicated in their native language while they were playing for the third ODI of India’s tour of New Zealand which is being played at Mount Maunganui stadium.
KL Rahul (India wicket-keeper batsman) and Manish Pandey (India batsman) were heard communicating in Kannada while they were about to make a run between the wickets.
When Manish Pandey and Shreyas were playing. Shreyas Iyer (62) got bowled by James Neesham (New Zealand all-rounder). After which Rahul got onto the pitch to play with Manish during the 31st of over of the 50 over match.
KL Rahul and Manish Pandey maintained a great spirit throughout the play because which they managed to score 107 runs together for the 5th wicket. Their partnership runs helped India to score 296/7 in 50 overs. Individually Panedey socred 42(48) runs and Rahul scored 112(113) runs.
A video of both the players talking in Kannada during the game went viral on various digital platforms. Their voices were overheard by the mic which is placed at the stumps.

Rahul was playing in all the white-ball format matches of the ongoing tour. Pandey played the game for the first time in the ODI series. Rahul scored a total of 428 runs in the eight matches across all games with an average of 71.33 and a strike rate of 125.88.
When Rahul and Manish return to India. If in case they both get selected in the quarter-final of the ongoing Ranji Trophy they might play for the Trophy. As both, the players are not part of the Test squad.
