Jindal Questions, India’s Selection Policy On R. Ashwin, Rishabh Pant

Parth Jindal, the co-owner of Delhi Capitals took to twitter and questioned the Indian cricket team‘s selection policy on Ravichandran Ashwin and Rishabh Pant after the ODI series against New Zealand which was resulted as a defeat of India with 3-0.

Ashwin and Pant both will represent the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the upcoming edition. Jindal has questioned the absence of Ashwin from the shorter formats and criticized India for having an ‘aversion to wicket-takers’. “ I don’t know the reason for the absence of @ashwinravi99 from this team!

“Wicket-takers seem to be averse to it! Since whitewashing the Kiwis in the T20s the Kiwis told India that the World Cup semi-final victory was no fluke. India needs wicket-takers and X factor players,” Jindal wrote on Twitter.

Parth Jindal has also questioned the decision of not including Pant for a single match in the series in the starting XI. KL Rahul also kept wickets for India, and he was one of the top performers on his side with the bat.

” And what is the reason behind to bring @RishabhPant17 just to warm the bench? Surely he’d be benefitted in playing against New Zealand A or the domestic cricket? Seeing a player as good as him doesn’t play 5th T20 and now 3rd ODI doesn’t make sense # Xfactor,” wrote Jindal in a later tweet.

Henry Nicholls scored a gritty 80 off 103 balls while Colin de Grandhomme scored a fast-fire 58 off just 28 deliveries to lead New Zealand to a comfortable five-wicket victory over India in Tuesday’s third ODI encounter at Mount Maunganui. While chasing 297, Nicholls and Guptill (66) provided the Kiwis with a brilliant base. And a late attack by Tom Latham and de Grandhomme was sufficient to clinch the encounter.

New Zealand finished the series with a 3-0 whitewash-something India hasn’t seen since 1989. The last time India lost all the matches in an ODI series against West Indies was back in ‘ 89.
