Jay Shah Warns Indian Cricketers Joining ‘Euro 2020’

According to reports, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah ordered all players on visiting Wimbledon and Euro 2020 after an Indian cricketer tested COVID positive in England. Whereas the identity of the player who tested positive has not been revealed, the news has caused concern in the Indian camp. The BCCI Secretary advised the players to “avoid” public locations since COVISHIELD only preventing against the virus, not full immunity. let’s look at Why BCCI Secretary Jay Shah Urges Caution.

“Yes, one of the players has tested positive although he is largely asymptomatic currently. He is in quarantine at an acquaintance’s place and won’t be traveling with the team to Durham on Thursday,” a BCCI source told on PTI.

According to the same source, the individual who caught the virus suffered from the dangerous version of Delta in the United Kingdom. The players are said to be tested again after reaching Durham. The first test round took place last Saturday (10 July), then another test round took place on Wednesday (14 July). After the initial set of testing, the infected player proved positive.

This would be fascinating to know if the virus has infected more than one player. Once the team departs for Durham, it will be recognized. According to reports, the sick player is quarantining at a relative’s home in the United Kingdom.
