The new logo featured the new title sponsor Dream XI:
For the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League, BCCI had to find a new title sponsor as the Chinese handset manufacturer Vivo suspended its sponsorship for this season. After several discussions, finally, Dream XI has got IPL sponsorship rights. Dream11 is a master in the fantasy gaming platform and the deal was signed when Dream XI agreed to give Rs 222 crore to BCCI, which is near about half of the amount, the Vivo was paying (Rs. 440 crores).
The 2020 IPL is scheduled to start from 19th September to 10th November and now BCCI has revealed the new logo for this edition.IPL has posted its new logo picture on its official Instagram handle with hashtag #Dream11IPL and requested the fans to give their opinions.
The picture of the 2020 IPL logo was also shared by the defending champions Mumbai Indians on its Instagram page.
Association of Dream11 with IPL:
Previously, IPL declared the deal with Dream XI and declared the growing presence of the company in sports in India.
The release statement of IPL stated “The GC of IPL has declared that Dream11 as the new title sponsor of the 13th edition IPL. Dream11 is an India based company, situated in Mumbai. The association of Dream11 with sports has increased over the years and now it is partnering 6 franchises of IPL along with 19 sports leagues. ”
Brijesh Patel, the IPL Chairman also admitted that the association of Dream11 with IPL will enable to enhance the fans’ engagement with IPL.
He added “We welcome wholeheartedly Dream11 as the title sponsor of the 13th edition of IPL. Dream11 has upgraded itself from just an official partner to now to title sponsor and it is a fantastic demonstration of IPL. All we know that Dream11 is a fantasy sports brand and definitely it will help fans engagement with IPL. It will provide the audience facility to build online engagement for fans just sitting at home and watching the IPL matches. Definitely we together deliver a great value.”
