Lucknow Super Giants team 2023: Lucknow will arrive at the IPL 2023 auction with a budget of INR 23.35 crore. They can buy up to 10 cricketers, of whom at most four can be overseas.
IPL 2023 LSG Auction Preview: Lucknow’s 2022 strategy revolved around a significant list of all-rounders. They batted deeper than most sides, and their bowlers often went unused, but the cushion in both departments allowed them a much-needed buffer in an emergency. They have retained most of their all-rounders, and are likely to count on them yet again.

LSG Watch List? Which players LSG will look in the mini auction
Lucknow may opt for veteran spinners like Amit Mishra, Piyush Chawla, or Shahbaz Nadeem, or youngsters like Ninad Rathwa of Baroda or Sumit Ruikar of Chhattisgarh. Since they prefer all-rounders, Vaisakh Chandran of Kerala is a handy option.
They can also afford to splurge on an expensive overseas all-rounder in addition to Stoinis . However, they may prefer that to be a spinner, so Mohammad Nabi or Shakib Al Hasan are better bets than Ben Stokes, Sam Curran, and Cameron Green.
Why IPL auction 2023 is held in Kochi?
The auction of players for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 will be held in Kochi on 23rd December 2022.
Some of the famous urban cities like Bengaluru, New Delhi, Mumbai, and Hyderabad, along with The Turkish city of Istanbul, were in contention to host the auction. However, the BCCI has opted for the coastal Kerala city.
“Logistically, and considering the dates, Kochi turned out to be the most suited option,” a BCCI official told PTI.
This year’s bidding process will be a mini-auction, unlike the regular mega auction. The 10 IPL franchises have submitted their list of retained and released players.
