IPL: 5 Players Who Didn’t Play A Single Game in 2021 But Might Earn Big In 2022

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 up until now features 8 teams barring a couple of seasons. It will be a 10-team affair from next season with 2 new teams being added to the mix.

Owing to the league being an 8-team tournament, many quality players often had to miss out. But the addition of 2 new teams will give them an opportunity to showcase their talent. Not only that, but they might also end up winning major bids in the mega auctions.

We look at 5 of them who may get lucky this years ipl 2022:

#5 Mitchell Santner

Mitchell Santner showed his worth to the world in the recently held T20 World Cup. He continued his excellent showing in the bilateral T20I series against India too. Santner who was part of the CSK setup ended up without playing a game the entire season. He had to stave off competition against the likes of Moeen Ali and Sam Curran to barge into the XI. But he couldn’t force his way through. Santner is certain to enter the auctions. He will go for big money too.

#4 Sam Billings

Sam Billings is another versatile player who loves to innovate. He is a handy T20I batsman who can double up as a floater. Billings made a name for himself in the IPL in 2018 when he played a match-winning knock against KKR. He has since then been on the fringes for most of the time. Billings who got a chance to be part of the DC setup failed to break into the playing XI. This year might just provide him with an opportunity to unleash himself.

#3 Mohammad Azharuddeen

Mohammad Azharuddeen made waves when he smashed a century against Mumbai in a domestic game. RCB wasted little time in signing him for the 2020 season. But Azharuddeen couldn’t get a game across 2 seasons. He is one of those few domestic sensations who might end up winning big bucks next season.

#2 Krishnappa Gowtham

Krishnappa Gowtham became the highest-paid uncapped Indian player in the auctions this year. CSK bought him for INR 9.6 crores. Gowtham was expected to play a starring role for CSK. But on the contrary, he was relegated to the sidelines. Gowtham though might again fetch huge numbers in the mega auctions next year.

#1 Sai Kishore

There can’t be any unluckier domestic cricketer than Sai Kishore currently. He is an outstanding left-arm bowler. Kishore has sizzled in domestic circuits for quite some time now. He has done everything but has failed to get an IPL game. Kishore will be better served playing for some other team the next time around. He might fetch excellent numbers in the mega auction.
