IPL 2021 will recommence in UAE next month. The preparations will benefit all players as the upcoming T20 World Cup too will be played in Oman and UAE. Players are looking forward to the league as a dress rehearsal for the World Cup. A few players may take this golden chance to impress the selectors. They may go on to stake a claim in their country’s squad for the World Cup. There are few players who are currently low on the radar. These underrated players will be looking forward to this IPL. lets look at 6 Underrated Players To Watch Out In The UAE Leg.
6 Underrated Players To Watch Out In The UAE Leg
#6 Arshdeep Singh
Arshdeep Singh is one bowler who has continued to impress right since his debut in IPL 2019. He is a canny left-arm fast bowler. Singh isn’t intimidated by the big stage. He is a handy option at the death. Singh was part of India’s squad in their tour to Sri Lanka. He is someone who will garner buzz during the UAE edition.
#5 Shahbaz Ahmed
Shahbaz Ahmed is one of RCB’s lesser heralded players. He made his IPL debut in 2020 in the UAE. He played a couple of games and did decently well in his appearances. But Ahmed’s moment under the sun came in IPL 2021. He changed a game totally against SRH picking up 3 wickets in a single over. Ahmed played 5 matches in the first half of IPL. He will be looking to put in a string of good performances heading into UAE.
#4 Amit Mishra
Amit Mishra is an IPL veteran. He has 166 wickets in 154 games. Mishra has been one of IPL’s proven performers picking wickets for fun. His strike rate of 19.54 is insane considering the fact that he is a wrist spinner. Mishra has done little wrong in Indian colours too. But he has always found it difficult to retain his spot in the side. This might be his last chance at glory.
#3 Abdul Samad
There has been a lot of anticipation around Abdul Samad. He is a big-hitting spinning all-rounder. Samad has made a lot of name for himself in the domestic circuit. In the limited appearances in the IPL, Samad has given a good account of himself. His IPL strike rate of 161.53 is mighty impressive. Samad needs a big season to break through in the Indian team. This season may prove to be just that for him.
#2 Ambati Rayudu
Ambati Rayudu was in sensational batting form in the first half of IPL 2021. He averaged a brilliant 34 while his strike rate of 200 was extraordinary. Rayudu showed the world what India missed when he wasn’t picked for the World Cup in 2019. The UAE leg may well see Rayudu’s last of the pyrotechnics. We can’t wait to watch it!
#1 Ravichandran Ashwin
Ravichandran Ashwin holds an outside chance of making it to India’s T20 World Cup squad. Ashwin is an IPL stalwart. He played a big part in CSK’s glory days. Ashwin was instrumental in their home dominance. He was one of India’s most innovative bowlers in this format. But sadly he hasn’t played a T20I match for India post-2017. Washington Sundar is currently recovering from injury, if Ashwin does manage to have a stellar IPL, he may find a spot for himself in the World Cup squad.
