IPL 2020: Suresh Raina Axed Out From CSK Squad For IPL Tournament

Suresh Raina Was One Of The Important Members Of IPL Franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK):

Former Indian middle-order batsman Suresh Raina left cricket fans in deep shock when he decided to pull out of the 2020 Indian Premier League ( IPL) for personal reasons. Raina, who was one of the significant members of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) IPL franchise, was fully prepared to play in IPL 2020 and also attended CSK’s one-week training camp in Chennai. Raina later flew with other representatives of the CSK to the UAE, but he returned to India a few days before the prestigious tournament started.

The CSK vice-captain later said that he might return to the UAE to join the CSK squad, but it seems that he is no longer needed by the MS Dhoni-led CSK, as his name has also been deleted from the website of the team. In addition to Raina, the name of off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has also been deleted from the “gang section” on the official website. It should be noted that before the beginning of the tournament, Harbhajan had already returned from the UAE.

A few days ago, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan told ANI that the team had relocated from Raina. “Because he made himself unavailable, we can’t look at (Suresh) Raina, and we value his option and his space. We don’t think about it,” he told a leading sports website.

“We’re going to bounce back strongly, I can tell the fans. It’s a game and you have your good and bad days. But the boys know what they need to do and they’re going to be back with the smiles,” Viswanathan added.

It would not be unfair to say that Raina’s presence in the middle-order is absent from CSK and they have won only two out of three matches so far. In the absence of Raina, opener Faf du Plessis is now batting at number three for CSK. The woes of CSK are added because of Ambati Rayudu ‘s injury, but it was expected that he will return to the side soon.
