IPL 2020: SRH vs RCB – RCB Start Their Campaign With A Fabulous Victory

Royal Challengers Banglore posted a good total of 163 runs with the loss of 5 wickets with the help of fifties from IPL debutant Devdutt Padikkal and AB de Villers. After the dismissal of the 1st wicket of RCB on 90 runs, Abhishek and Vijay Shankar were able to take the wickets of Padikkal and Aaron Finch very quickly. In 36 balls, Padikkal made his fifty. In between 12 and 16 overs, RCB struggled a bit but AB de Villers helped the side to finish with a good total.

Next, let’s go to the second innings of the match…

Warner, Bairstow stepped out

With a boundary and a six off his first three balls, Bairstow started his score, just like the start SRH required.

Exit for Warner

After the 1st over of Dale Styn, Umesh Yadav was able to take the early wicket of SRH captain, David Warner. And it was a run-out!! This was really unlucky. At the non-striker’s end off delivery, Warner was run out that was hit back by Bairstow. What a great wicket in the middle of an over. After Warner, Manish Pandey came to the crease. After 2 overs, SRH was 18/1.

Back-to-back fours for Manish Pandey:

After the exit of the SRH captain so early, big responsibility on Manish Pandey. And he proved his responsible attitude by smashing two consecutive boundaries in 4th over and tempting six in the 6th over.  After 7 overs, SRH reached 55 runs with the loss of 1 wicket and the partnership reached 37 runs off 32 deliveries.

Bairstow scoops

In the 8th over, Umesh Yadav to Bairstow and it was a scoop for six! Incredible shot. Just the next ball and it went for a boundary. Although the dismissal of Warner was unfortunate, on the whole, this was a good start of SRH.

Fifty runs partnership

This was an outstanding partnership between Manish Pandey and Jonny Bairstow for Sunrisers Hyderabad’s second wicket. After 10 overs, SRH scored 83/1. Manish Pandey is on 33 and Jonny Bairstow was just 8 runs to go for his half-century.

Out!!

In the last ball of the 11th over, Manish Pandey was dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal, caught by Navdeep Saini. With the help of 3 boundaries and 1 six, Manish Pandey scored 34 runs in 33 deliveries. Now, Priyam Garg, the right-handed batsman came to the crease. After 12 overs, SRH reached 89/2.

Fifty for Jonny Bairstow

Responsibility and Style, both blend in Jonny Bairstow. With a massive boundary, he completed his half-century. In 38 balls, he made 52 runs. That is the brute power from Bairstow.

SRH reached its century

With the help of Bairstow’s s boundary, SRH reached its hundred. After 14 overs, SRH scored 108/2.  Priyam Garg and Jonny Bairstow were on the crease. Superb batting from Jonny Bairstow.

Bowled!!

In the 15.2 over, Chahal to Bairstow, and it was bowled out. Yuzvendra Chahal was able to stop the man of SRH. But what a tremendous inning from Jonny Bairstow. He scored 61 runs with 6 numbers of boundaries and 2 sixes off 41 deliveries. Vijay Shankar came to the crease.

Chahal Removed Shankar

In the next ball of Yuzvendra Chahal, Vijay Shankar was bowled. In just 2 balls, Chahal was able to remove two batsmen back-to-back. Abhishek Sharma and Priyam Garg were on the crease. With this, after 16 overs, Sunrisers Hyderabad reached 127 with the loss of 4 wickets.

Priyam Garg OUT!!

The unfortunate dismissal of Priyam Garg by Shivam Dube. With 1 boundary, Priyam Dube scored 13 runs in 12 deliveries.

Another wicket fall

Abhishek Sharma runs out!! It was really chaotic out in the middle and Rashid Khan was trying to complete the second run, didn’t realize that they were running in the same line. As both the batsmen collided in the middle, it was an easy run-out. Great pressure on Sunrisers Hyderabad. SRH scored 135 with the loss of 6 wickets after 17 over. After Abhishek Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was there with Rashid Khan.

Bowled!!

PACE. FULL.DIRECT. The deadly combination of all and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar bowled by Navdeep Saini. Bhuvneshwar Kumar played nothing shot and it was out. Sunrisers Hyderabad slipped to 141/7. From 121 runs in 2 wickets to 141 runs in 4 wickets.

Wicket No.8 collapsed

2nd wicket for Navdeep Saini as he dismissed Rashid Khan.  For SRH, what a collapse it was, who lost six wickets for just 21 runs in only three overs. Royal Challengers Bangalore were heading towards a victory. 21 runs to win off 11 deliveries.

SRH 9 DOWN

This was really a miserable sight. Now it was time for Mitchell Marsh. He was batting on one leg, hit the ball so high in the air and caught by RCB captain Kohli. SRH lost their ninth wicket. Mitchell Marsh injured his ankle yet walked out to bat hoping for a miracle.  Seven balls and needed 19 runs.

Final over

Dale Steyn to bowl the last over of the game. In 19.4 overs, Sandeep Sharma out, caught by Kohli. It’s all over. A massive victory for Royal Challengers Bangalore and the win is their second continuous victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad.
