On Thursday, Rob Cassell – Australian First-Class cricketer was appointed by Rajasthan Royals as their new fast bowling coach for the next coming IPL Indian Premier League.
Cassell was successful in developing fast bowlers of South Australia and Ireland men’s cricket team. He has worked with them previously and even worked as a coach.
Cassell represented Australia in 2002 at the U-19 World Cup in New Zealand but never played further in the senior team. He played a key role in developing the skills of people like Kane Richardson and Joe Mennie for the Redbacks.
Cassell also helped to form a quality bowling line-up for the Irish team, including people like Tim Murtagh and Boyd Rankin.
Andrew McDonald Royal’s head coach said that he had a great relationship with Rob during the Victorian days. McDonald also said that they are happy to have Rob on-board.
What they are looking for in Rob?
To work closely with the Royals to ensure that they prepare some great execution strategies and innovation in the game. This is possible because of his strong focus on coaching. Several fast bowlers made it through hierarchy and succeeded at the top level under his guidance.
Cassell recently introduced an app called “WicketsApp” using which he helped bowlers to execute their strategies. This is a great innovative step taken by him.
This shows that the Royals have roped a great bowling coach and he is ready to train them. And they have a pretty good mix of Indian and foreign players in the squad.
Cassell expressed that he observed the Royals for quite some time. He has a high expectation of the team dynamic and highly competitive fast bowling line up, which helps them to maximize the team’s abilities.
