Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) is close to beating the defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) who lost seven wickets after winning a goal of 192 in the 13th game of the Indian Premier League ( IPL) 2020 at Sheik Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Thursday.
MI posted a total of 191/4 in 20 overs, after being sent by KXIP skipper KL Rahul to the bat. Skipper Rohit Sharma was the highest run-scorer to break 70 runs off 45 deliveries.
All-rounders Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya had the perfect finish following Rohit ‘s dismissal, Pollard (47 * off 20) and Hardik (30 * off 11) smashing the ball to all corners of the park. Windies pacer Sheldon Cottrell was chosen by the KXIP bowlers to account for Quinton de Kock ‘s main dismissal while conceding 20 runs.
