IPL 2020: Eliminator A Key Contest-David Warner, Chris Morris In Opening Battle

IPL 2020 Tournament Has Seen The Best Of David Warner:

David Warner brought himself back to his best place, scoring big runs at the top of the inning and leading his side with runs, scoring at a fast pace. His performance in the last IPL 2020 league match against Mumbai Indians was phenomenal, and an unbeaten partnership with Wriddhiman Saha made the defending champions look pedestrian.

Bangalore ‘s Royal Challengers will be painfully conscious of the threat he poses and the need to get rid of him early in the inning. They did, with Washington Sundar being the bowler when the two sides met the last time, but Warner is unlikely to fall for that again. So, to deliver, it may well be left to the seasoned Chris Morris.

Morris has come to RCB as a boon, particularly because Navdeep Saini is now deprived of the rest of the bowling. Because of an injury, the South African, who missed out on the early stages of IPL 2020, made his presence almost immediately available.

So far, he has played nine games and has 11 wickets, with a 4/26 best and an economy of 6.63, and the difference was immediately noticeable.

The spearhead of the SRH movement has been David Warner for years now. He started unsteadily this time, and although he is still not at his peak, the knock against MI would have made his confidence enormous.

Warner is undoubtedly one of the most influential players in IPL 2020 and even earlier — a total of 529 runs, twice unbeaten, a top score of 85 not out and four fifties to his name.

On the cumulative runs from 2016 , 2017 and 2018 (he served a suspension in 2019), this aggregate is still not a patch, but he is still right up there. In the contest in Abu Dhabi on Friday, Warner will be the main man and Morris has an unenviable job. Only time will say if he’s got it in him.
