Kolkata Knight Riders Had Set A Target Of 173 Runs For Chennai Super Kings:
In the 49th match of the IPL 2020 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by six wickets. With Ravindra Jadeja smashing an 11-ball 31 to help CSK pursue a target of 173 runs, Ruturaj Gaikwad scored his second IPL half-century.
In an innings composed of six boundaries and two sixes, Ruturaj accumulated 72 runs off 53 deliveries. Two boundaries and three sixes included Jadeja’s unbeaten 31. Two wickets each accounted for Pat Cummins and Varun Chakravarthy. Earlier, after being sent in to bat, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) posted a total of 172 runs for the loss of five wickets. The highest run-scorer was Nitish Rana, smashing 87 runs off 61 deliveries.
The innings of Rana comprised 10 boundaries and four sixes. The second highest run-getter was fellow opener Shubman Gill, scoring 26 runs off 17 balls. The pick of the bowlers, accounting for two dismissals, was South African pacer Lungi Ngidi. Ravindra Jadeja, Mitchell Santner and Karn Sharma, the spinners, chipped in with a wicket each.
