Ben Stokes and Sanju Samson stitched an undefeated partnership of 152 runs to help RR set the target of 196. Stokes scored his second century in the IPL, breaking 107 runs off 60 deliveries. The innings of the Englishman consisted of fourteen borders and three sixes.
Samson registered his 13th half-century in the IPL, amassing 54 runs out of 31 balls with four limits and three maximums to his name. The Australian pacemaker James Pattinson was the MI bowler pick, accounting for two wickets. MI scored a total of 195 runs for the loss of five wickets after skipper Kieron Pollard won the toss and took the bat.
All-rounder Hardik Pandya was the top run-scorer, breaking 60 runs off 21 deliveries, with two limits and seven sixes to his name. Suryakumar Yadav was the second highest run-getter, accumulating 40 runs out of 26 balls. Jofra Archer and Shreyas Gopal have chosen two wickets each for RR.
