India Vs New Zealand: 2nd Test – Neil Wagners Plan

Neil Wagner Has Missed The First Test:

At Wellington, India lost the 1st Test match against New Zealand with the difference of 10 wickets. With the return of Neil Wagner, the Blackcaps have set to strengthen their side for the 2nd test. He missed the first Test because of the birth of his first child, daughter Olivia.

On the match, none of the Indian batsmen’s performance was impressive. Virat Kohli’s performance has been worrying for the visitors. Virat Kohli as a captain just scored 201 runs in this tour of nine innings. His highest score has been 51 runs, his only half-century came in the first ODI on this tour.

New Zealand has ensured that Virat Kohli does not hit his stalk for the remainder of the tour. Neil Wagner has laid out his plan to guarantee that Kohli continues his rare lean patch.

“Target And Go For The Best Players” – Neil Wagner

“Every team I play against, I always try and target and go for their best players because you know what a big stride it makes within a team when you get their best players out,” Wagner told Stuff.

“Concentrating him up, making sure they don’t score, and putting him under pressure from both the sides”

Wagner is conscious of what he is talking about. In 6 innings, he has taken Virat Kohli’s wicket three times. He bowled 18 overs and gave 60 runs for an average of 20 with a 3.33 economy rate.

Clearly Wagner knows what he’s talking about. He has dismissed Kohli 3 times in 6 innings; bowling 108 balls to him and conceding 60 runs for an average of 20.00.

Virat Kohli though has downplayed the concerns over his gaming plan. He has stated that he wants to focus on correct things before the 2nd Test at Christchurch.
