The Indian Cricket fans on Wednesday took on to social media to backlash Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh for supporting former Pakistan’s skipper Shahid Afridi’s foundation in fight against Coronavirus pandemic.
This came in amidst the phase when India and Pakistan have been undergoing strained relations due to various issues pertaining to national interest.
Shahid Afridi’s appeal to people to come forward and donate for pandemic affected victims saw an overwhelming response from leading cricketers.
Harbhajan Singh appealed through a video to all cricket players to come forward and make similar appeals to support the cause.
Singh also urged people beyond cricketing fraternity to come forward and contribute to the foundation. Not only Yuvraj Singh took on to his official Twitter handle to appeal where he wrote, “These are testing times, but it’s also time to look out for each other” thereby asking people to donate humbly for the cause.
In the meantime, Afridi thanked both the Indian counterparts for the support on his social media handle.
Indian Cricket Fans Fury:
While the two Cricketers thought they had just finished their good work, the Indian Cricket fans backlashed their acts.
“Do you have any sense?” wrote one Twitter user for Yuvraj Singh, another Twitter user wrote ‘Lost Respect’ for Harbhajan Singh. In the meantime, another Twitter user posted ‘Sorry guys you have lost it for both the Indian cricket legends.’
India Pakistan Matches Statistics:
India and Pakistan have not played any bilateral matches since 2012-13.
Yuvraj Singh who retired last year also raised funds for coronavirus affected people through ‘YouWeCan’ foundation.
India has been placed under a 21 day lockdown period since March 24, by the Indian government in an attempt to arrest the spread of Coronavirus infection. So, far as many as 1,600 confirmed cases of Coronavirus have been reported in India with 38 deaths.
