India Was Outclassed In All Three Departments: Shikha Pandey

Shikha Pandey Acknowledgement:

The senior bowler of India national team, Shikha Pandey accepted that in the Women’s T20 World Cup final match, India was outclassed in all three departments, not only the fielding. This led them to defeat against Australia.

On Sunday (8th March), at MCG, India has dispensed a huge 85 run beating by the team Australia. In their session, Australia scored 184 runs with the loss of 4 wickets in which Pandey was thrashed for more than 50 runs in her four overs.

Pandey said in the ICC website that “tensions were not the real things. Once you get into the ground, just you blackout. I don’t think I was nervous.”

Record-Breaking Win:

Pandey repented for the dropped opportunities of Beth Mooney, who scored unbeaten 78 runs. Rajeshwari Gayakwad also missed the opportunity to caught and bowled her. Like this Shafali Verma also dropped off the fifth ball of the innings and missed the chance to caught Alyssa Healy, who scored fantastic 75 runs. Because of these misses, the opening duo able to set up record-breaking win.

Also, she said “It is obvious that in the starting phase only, if you give chances to batters in form, then they will use them. This thing costs us a lot. It is not just fielding, but we could have been better in batting, bowling, fielding, all three departments.”

From the first over only Mooney and Healy destroyed the confidence level of the Indian bowlers. Also, she appreciates the Australia batters and said that “you can plan for those kinds of betters, but the types of shots they were playing were really amazing. Sometimes you have to hold and recognize as well as appreciate the shots.

In the tournament, in her 12 overs, she was hit for only three boundaries and she is the only one Indian bowler who got away in the former two matches and struck by Healy in the opening game of the tournament.
