Both of England openers walked back into the pavilion without staying up to the crease for even frist 10 overs.

Alice Capsey and Sophia Dunkley then tried to add some runs on board, but Indian bowlers were on field with different mindset. They didn’t allow them to stay for long as Sneh Rana dismissed Capsey for 19, while Harleen Deol removed Dunkley for 29.

Danielle Wyatt, however, somehow managed to score 43, and at last Davidson Edwards’ knock of unbeaten 50 guide the English side put 227 on board in 20 overs.

For India, the all-rounder Deepti Sharma bagged the maximum wickets (2). While the veteran Jhulan Goswami, Meghna Singh, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Sneh Rana and Harleen Deol took a wicket each.

After Yastika’s dismissal, the skipper Harmanpreet came on crease and both captain and vice-captain took the team close to target before Mandhana missed her well-deserved century by 9 runs.

But at the time she walked back, India were on comfortable position in the match with 30 to win 75 overs.
