As Team India gears up for the upcoming Test series and WTC final in England, the second-string Indian team is preparing to tour Sri Lanka. All the white ball specialists will be playing for the Srilanka tour and red ball specialists will be aiming to win the WTC finals and try to dominate the Test match series against England. Broadcaster Sony announced on Monday that the Indian cricket team will play three ODIs, and 3 T20 Internationals in Sri Lanka between July 13 to 25, 2021. Indian waves will crash against the Sri Lankan shore,” the channel tweeted with the schedule.
The ODIs will take place on July 13, 16 and 18, while the T20Is will be played on July 21, 23 and 25. Shikhar Dhawan is likely to lead Team India’s B team in Sri Lanka in the absence of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Another options for captaincy will be Hardik Pandya and Shreyas Iyer with subject to his fitness.
India’s B squad will also be opening favourites against Sri Lanka squad. India has the players like Shikhar Dhawan, Hardik Pandya, Prithvi Shaw, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Navdeep Saini, Deepak Chahar, Rahul Chahar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav and more available for the Sri Lankan tour.
Indian players will be gustatory with bio bubbles but nothing can be do about it and they will have to serve a week-long quarantine, including three days of hard quarantine at the start. Post that, they will be allowed to train and practice inside the bio-secure environment. All the players can showcase their talents in this series before T20 World Cup and they’ve the chances to impress the selectors.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli and co will be looking to win the WTC Finals. England pitches are expected to favour Kiwi pacers with similar home conditions. TeamIndia expected to face a tough challenge in the highly-anticipated clash.
