India vs Bangladesh Day-Night Test: Indian Cricketers Meet Bangladeshi PM At Eden Gardens

On the opening day of the second Test, Indian players met Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Sheik Hasina at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli introduced his teammates and supporting staff to Ms. Hasina before the start of the historic Day-Night Test. Ms. Mamata Banerjee, chief minister of West Bengal, was also present in the stadium. The overall meeting between Team India and Bangladesh PM was held under the supervision of the BCCI (Board of Cricket for Control in India) President Sourav Ganguly.

On Friday, BCCI uploaded a video on their Twitter handle, captioning it: “Her Excellency Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of Bangladesh, @MamataOfficial, Honourable Chief Minister, West Bengal, and TeamIndia great @sachin_rt greet #TeamIndia ahead of the #PinkballTest.”

After that the BCCI posted another video  of Ms. Hasina and Ms. Banerjee ringing an iconic bell to mark the opening of the test. BCCI wrote: “Her Excellency Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of Bangladesh, @MamataOfficial, Honourable Chief Minister, West Bengal ring the bell at the iconic Eden Gardens.”

Bangladesh skipper Mominul Haque won the toss and elected to bat first. This is the first-ever pink-ball Test for both the teams.
