India Rectifies The Mistakes Made In The WTC Final: VVS Laxman

The visitors have dominated the opening Test match involving England and India, which is now underway. India’s fast bowling duo got the benefit as the hosts’ batting collapsed and were bowled out for just 183 runs. Former India batsman VVS Laxman lauded the squad, saying that they had learned from their failures in the WTC final. Here is why VVS Laxman Lauded Indian Squad.

The Indian bowler’s combination has been criticized for their poor performance in the World Test Championship finals. However, the side appeared to have rectified the failings, as the pacers have been dangerous with the ball since day 1.

As a result, Laxman stated that the team was capable of turning their circumstances around by improving on themselves in every possible manner and by better knowing the English circumstances.

“It was a fantastic effort from India, right from the first over Bumrah bowled. The mistakes that were made in the World Test Championships final, I think they have rectified it and the only way to do so was by going to the nets, training, working on the areas of concern,” Laxman told in an Interaction.

We Saw On Day 1 From Bumrah And Shami Is Top Rhythm: VVS Laxman

Bumrah’s failure to get a wicket in the WTC final drew criticism. However, on the first day of the Test match, the speedster took the wicket of opener Rory Burns with his 5th ball and eventually took  4-wickets.

Shami, too, was seemed to be dangerous with the ball from the start, picking up  3-wickets. Laxman praised each of them and talked about the importance of the bowlers being in peak form.

“Bumrah and Shami bowled the right lengths as one has to be effective in English conditions. To win a Test series, a team needs to have two or three bowlers in top form and what we saw on Day 1 from Bumrah and Shami is top rhythm,” added the former batter.

On the first day, India’s pacers took advantage of the circumstances by focusing much more on the line and lengths. This is a great indication for the team, and a comfortable lead now may encourage them to believe they can continue to dominate the game.
