IND vs WI, Chennai Weather Today: Will Rain Spoil The 1st ODI Match?

After winning the T20I series 2-1, the confident Team India will play against West Indies Team in the first ODI match in Chennai. Unfortunately, the weather might not be as supportive. According to the weather forecast, it might rain in December and it is may rain during the match. Team India canceled a training session on Friday and West Indies Team also did the same on Saturday, and even on the day of the match, the forecast is not certainly promising.

Weather Forecast For The First ODI Match For India Vs West Indies:

On Friday and Saturday, it was raining, forcing the ground staff to cover the pitch entirely. As per AccuWeather, there will be a cloud covering right throughout the match along with intermittent showers. This could certainly mean a stop-start match, something which is not so good news for both the players and the fans.

The square is also wet and this could probably mean a sluggish surface could be on offer and without sunshine in the city. The Indian spinners will, however, not mind bowling on such surface. “The no. of bowlers will do well; I think it will come well for us. So it gives you a various pool of bowlers to choose from. Also, we would also like to see the conditions, New Zealand and Australia would be different. So it will be horses for different courses.,” the bowling coach Bharat Arun said ahead of the game.

If we speak of Team India, it could go with three spinners, namely Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, and Yuzvendra Chahal, as the West Indies batting has struggled to hit their stride against these spinners. Also, with that, there will be pressure on the young player, Rishabh Pant, to perform well. He has got a long rope and the management continues to support him.

He has been selected by the selectors and the team management because all of us believe and hope that he is a good player… He is working hard on his game and over the fitness as well, so we are just hoping for good. All of us believe that once he comes good, he can be a game-winner. He is being given chances because he has performed well in the past. Once he starts grabbing runs, I am sure, he will be a massive player,” the batting coach, Vikram Rathour stated this on the event of the 1st ODI.
