After a huge challenging target of 242 from Team India, West Indies had to start their innings at a run rate of 12.01. West Indies lost 3 wickets in three overs and was struggling big time. Shivam Dube took a stunner at the third man. It was of a back of length ball from Chahar outside off that Pooran cut. The top edge flew to the third man and Dube dived in front to complete the catch.
It’s always not easy for a batsman to score single-handedly in pressure situations and West Indies were looking for runs. Pollard and Hetmyer steadied the ship for West Indies but Kuldeep got the latter. Shivam Dube had leaked 30 runs off his two overs and Hetmyer was looking to continue the momentum.
Kuldeep stepped in and took the wicket of Hetmyer when he was trying to take on the left-arm spinner and failed to connect fluently. It went high up and tested Manish Pandey before he made that catch look easy.
After a fighting knock of 68 runs, Windies skipper Pollard had to depart following a good catch from the substitute fielder Jadeja. And this will be the ending bid for the Windies innings because all the West Indian batsmen are back in the pavilion.
West Indies managed to post a total of 173-8 in 20 overs.
The key to India’s victory was their top order, who played hard and implemented their batting skills to the best of their abilities, putting that extra bit of effort into it.
