He has surpassed this mark during the Day 2 of the ongoing WTC Final and became the 9th fastest batsman to cross the 7500 mark in Test Cricket.

And among the Indian cricketers, he is the 4th fastest batsman to achieve it. Along with Indian batting legend, Sunil Gavaskar has taken 154 innings to bring up his 7500 mark and Sachin Tendulkar took 144 innings to achieve this feat.
Here is one more record on the name of the current Indian skipper Virat Kohli – As he walked out for toss with New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson at the Ageas Bowl in the WTC finals, he surpassed the record of MS Dhoni for leading the Indian team in most test matches.
Kohli has now become the ninth-fastest batsman to cross the 7500 run mark in Test cricket. Among Indian cricketers, he is the fourth fastest to achieve this feat.
World Test Championship finals against New Zealand is the 61st match for Virat Kohli to captain Team India in Test Cricket. Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni has retired in 2014 after leading India in 60 Test games.
On Friday, rain washed out the whole first day of play in the inaugural World Test Championship final between India and New Zealand at Southampton. Event the toss has been delayed because of the rain.
On Day 2 of the first World Test Championship final at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson won the toss and chose to bowl first against India. New Zealand has four specialized fast bowlers and one seam bowler in the form of Colin de Grandhomme. India, on the other hand, has kept the playing XI that was declared on Thursday.
On Day 2, at 64.4 overs India has scored 146 runs by losing 3 wickets of Rohit Sharma, Gill, and Pujara.
