India finished at 326/5 at the end of Day 1. Indian captain Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja stepped up to help the hosts reach hundreds. Sarfaraz Khan scored 62 and appeared to be in terrific form, but a mix-up with Jadeja, who remained not out playing at 110. The batting line up is sliding little down for India, if Kuldeep Yadava and Jadeja strikes on the crease then it will be boon to India’s score on Day 2.
India skipper Rohit Sharma was removed for 131, bringing his 204-run partnership with Ravindra Jadeja to an end. Earlier, India won the toss and decided to bat first against England in Rajkot. The hosts have made three changes to the playing XI: Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel make their debuts, while Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Siraj return to the lineup, replacing Axar Patel and Mukesh Kumar.
England, on the other hand, had announced their lineup a day earlier. Shoiab Bashir has been replaced by Mark Wood, who will share the fast-bowling duties with James Anderson.
Both India and England will be eager to bring out their best cricket to win and grab the lead in the closely contested match.
