Since the Test loss to the West Indies in March 2022, England has won consecutive matches across all forms. As England defeated Netherlands in three one-day internationals (ODIs) and all four of their Test matches in the last month. Here in this article we talk about What Jos Buttler issues warning to Team India.
Jos Buttler was appointed as a new captain of England’s white-ball side after Eoin Morgan announced his retirement from international cricket later last month.
The new captain has warned the Indian side that he and his teammates are determined to maintain their winning streak as they lead their team against India for the first time.
Buttler took no time to congratulate his red-ball teammates after they beat India in the fifth and final test on Tuesday to draw the series 2-2.
And on that, Buttler said that the white-ball boys are motivated by the Test squad’s impressive performance.
“Incredible to watch, what England did at Edgbaston. We will take cue from Incredible Test team and continue England’s winning run.” Buttler said to UK based daily.
The new captain of England’s white-ball team
Buttler, who was the vice-captain to Eoin Morgan, immediately announced as England’s new skipper of England as he is currently the most suitable candidate to lead the English side.
He was happy with the new responsibility but also feels that it will end his test career.
In the 151 ODIs he played for the England so far, he has scored 4120 runs, including 10 hundreds.
However, haven’t found a sound success in test cricket as he only managed to post 2 hundreds. He last played for England in White jersey against Australia in the Ashes, which the English side lost by 4-0.
“Certainly being captain of the white-ball team is my number one priority. I’m very focused and really excited for the challenge that lies ahead,” Buttler told reporters.
“It’s quite obvious at the minute I was left out on merit and rightfully so. I had a poor Ashes series and I’m not part of the team at the moment.
“The team is playing fantastically well, so it doesn’t look like a team that needs people.”
