I Will Appeal To Ganguly, I’m Sure ICC Will Help Me- Kaneria

Will Appeal Again If Ganguly Becomes ICC President- Kaneria:

After former captain, Graeme Smith of South Africa, Pakistan’s leg spinner Danish Kaneria backed Sourav Ganguly that he should become the next ICC president. Kaneria, who currently serves an assignment ban during an English County game, said that if Ganguly is the leader, he will again appeal to the ICC and he’s sure that his petition will get a better response.

“Yes I would appeal to Ganguly and I am sure ICC would assist me in every way possible,” Kaneria quoted by media as saying that if Ganguly were its president, he will appeal to ICC.

A figure only enhanced by Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, and Imran Khan, Kaneria who took 261 wickets for Pakistan were banned for spot-fixing in 2012 while representing Essex. Initially, the leg-spinner refused the charge but finally confessed in 2018.

Kaneria said that Sourav Ganguly was a superb cricketer and he could be the perfect ICC leader candidate.

Sourav Ganguly Has Led India Quite Well:

“A fine cricketer, Sourav Ganguly. He knows the complexities. For the ICC president’s position, there is no better candidate than him.”

“Ganguly led India very well and MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli continued to do so afterward. He is the President of BCCI and I think he can continue the cricket to become ICC chief, “added Kaneria.

He added that he would not need the support of the Pakistan Cricket Board to become president of the ICC.

“For himself, Ganguly has a good case. I don’t think he’ll need permission from PCB, “he said. Graeme Smith was the first ICC president to support Ganguly.

“The Chairman of the ICC now has a key role in how the game can progress at the right level. Seeing a cricket man like Ganguly as President of the ICC will be fantastic. For the game, it’s going to be good. He knows the game, he played the highest level, and he’s outstanding, “Smith said.

Ganguly’s presidency, which ends in July unless the Supreme Court requires an extension, has chances of succeeding Shashank Manohar as the next president of the ICC.
