The former cricketer-turned commenter, Sanjay Manjrekar is not at all new to creating controversy with his comments on many sportsmen throughout his time as a commentator. He has received a lot of criticism and hate from cricket fans on social media over the years for his controversial views on the sport’s most important issues. Manjrekar, on the other hand, never quits doing what he enjoys the most: giving feedbacks. ‘I Respectfully Disagree with Mr. Manjrekar’ – Abhinav Mukund speaks in favour of R Ashwin
The former batsman is at it again, this time targeting India’s top spinner Ravi Ashwin. Due to his lack of five-wicket deliveries against SENA countries (South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia), the former Mumbai player believes Ashwin would never be considered a “legend of the game.”
‘All- time great’ is the highest praise & acknowledgement given to a cricketer. Cricketers like Don Bradman, Sobers, Gavaskar, Tendulkar, Virat etc are all time greats in my book. With due respect, Ashwin not quite there as an all-time great yet. 🙏#AllTimeGreatExplained😉

Ashwin’s stats are been phenomenal over the years- Abhinav Mukund
Manjrekar was seen pointing out this bit of information – his tweet got a lot of attention, and Indian fans were obviously unhappy to hear such remarks from the cricket expert. Abhinav Mukund of Tamil Nadu has ‘respectfully disagreed’ with Manjrekar’s comments, asking him to consider Ashwin’s overall impact against all the top teams.
Abhinav Mukund speaks in favour of R Ashwin. “I read an article today where Sanjay Manjrekar said that ‘I disagree that he is a legend of the game’. I have to respectfully disagree with Mr. Manjrekar and say he is a legend of the game because he holds several world records. The accusation towards him is that he’s never performed in SENA countries. But I think he had a fantastic tour to Australia. If you look at it that way, and if you just look at the number of five-wicket-hauls he’s taken and what an impact he’s been to as a leader, he’s probably one of the legends of the game in my opinion at least,” Mukund told stand-up comedian Sorabh Pant on his YouTube channel ‘Wake Up With Sorabh’.
Ashwin’s progress has been phenomenal over the years, as he became the quickest Indian bowler to take 400 Test wickets and has won several matches on his own due to his incredible wicket-taking abilities.
In fact, Ashwin had a successful tour to Australia, taking 12 wickets in three games and proving his batting ability in the third Test by consistently defending balls and denying Australia win.
Clearly, Ashwin would like to respond to Manjrekar’s comments with a hammering performance against New Zealand in the World Test Championship Final (WTC), which begins on June 18.
