‘I Just Absolutely Loved It’, On His First Tour To India– Pat Cummins Recalls

India’s passion for cricket is well-known. The pleasure, intensity, and excitement that one experiences when playing cricket in an Indian stadium cannot be found anywhere else in the world, since the supporters are emotionally involved in the game. Pat Cummins has gone through the ranks of Australia’s bowling line-up since his debut in 2011.

Pat Cummins About India Tour: Cummins recalls and feels happy on playing against some of the superstars like ‘Sachin Tendulkar, David Warner and Shane Watson’

On his official YouTube page, the pacer posted a vlog on his maiden trip to India. Cummins revealed that he first visited India in 2011 for the Champions League T20 series. Pat Cummins, who was 18 at the time, was playing for New South Wales and was taken aback by the Indian fans’ intensity. Cummins remembered playing against legends like Sachin Tendulkar, David Warner, and Shane Watson when recalling his recollections from the trip.

“The first time I landed in India was in 2011 to play the Champions League. I was playing for New South Wales and had just turned 18. That was the first time I had traveled overseas for cricket and growing up you hear all the stories of playing cricket in India and I just absolutely loved it,” Cummins uploaded the latest vlog on his Youtube channel.

“We played against some superstars, I think Sachin Tendulkar was playing in that tournament. As an 18-year-old coming here and hearing the crowd go crazy I couldn’t believe it. In the warm-up, David Warner and Shane Watson, who were on our side whenever they ran to the boundary, the crowd would just go crazy. It’s so different from Australia. We were here for three or four and I couldn’t get enough of it,” he further added.

‘Cummins’ Established himself as a capable lower-middle-order batsman

With his raw pace and swing, Pat Cummins is known for unsettling the opponents. Cummins has a new team in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Since joining Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2020, the speedster has put up a number of impressive performances with his team.  The 28-year-old has established himself as a capable lower-middle-order batsman who can knock boundaries and maximums with ease.

Speaking about his batting, the Australia legend stated that he enjoys playing with the bat and enjoys strolling in the middle, and simply swinging the willow. “Yeah, I do (enjoy batting).” You only have a small window to make an impact while you’re batting seventh or eighth, so you’ll attempt to improve your ability to hit from the first ball.

“I spend a lot of time being a boring Test batter, I can’t score runs. So I quite enjoy coming out here and swinging the bat. Sometimes it comes off, sometimes it doesn’t,” he signed off.
