I Don’t Think There Will Be Many Improvements- Gautam Gambhir

Gautam Gambhir On The Alterations Cricket:

The former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir predicts that the pandemic of a coronavirus will not contribute to many improvements on future cricket. The veteran player from Delhi claims that while leather shines, there can be an alternative for saliva. With the COVID-19, saliva and sweat are considered to be a likely medium for spreading the virus.

Australia recently introduced the prohibition of saliva, citing instructions issued in the current scenario by the Federal Government on the return of sports. Another retired Indian batsman, Deep Dasgupta, recently said that Vaseline might be an alternative.

“I don’t believe that a lot of laws and rules will be updated. You can have an alternative for saliva use except that I don’t think that many improvements will be made,” Gambhir said.

Players And Everyone Else Need To Live With Coronavirus

In India, there have been nearly 63,000 cases of coronavirus, with more than 2,100 deaths. In a bad situation, Maharashtra is the state most affected. India is in a lockdown process right now until May 17, and it is not clear how things will happen in the future.

Back in December 2018, Gambhir who hangs his cricket boots said that the virus is not running away. Instead, he said people must get used to it because they believe that it is hard to keep social distance in most sports.

“There must be a virus in players and everybody else, probably they must become accustomed and have a virus. Players could eventually catch it, and you’ll have to live with it, “he said.

“In any sport, it can not be easy to maintain social distancing and other rules. You can still do it with cricket, but also in football, hockey and other sports. So the sooner you accept it, the better it is, we just have to live with it,” he added.
