Highlights: IND vs SL 2nd ODI, India Leads (2-0)

Incredible!!  Team India had a wow performance last night. They are put under pressure, and they strike in severe circumstances. This is how the second match between India and Sri Lanka went. They remained constantly behind in the 276-run hunt, with wickets dropping at frequent intervals. Deepak Chahar, their lower-order batsman, held his temper and produced a match-winning 69-run performance to assist India to secure the series with one match remaining. Let’s look at IND vs SL 2nd ODI Score.

IND vs SL 2nd ODI Score

Following winning the toss, Sri Lanka stunned everyone by electing to bat first. Their openers, Avishka Fernando with Minod Bhanuka, got off to a promising pattern as they did in the first ODI. However, this time, as they focused on Indian bowling, they batted with greater purpose. The opponents’ struggles in the powerplay to get up wickets continued. Yuzvendra Chahal, the leg-spinner, interrupted the 77-run partnership by dismissing Minod with a very well 36.

Then Bhanuka Rajapaksa bowled a first-ball duck, bringing India back into the contest. Just as in the first game, the spinners began small effort the hosts in the midsection. Avishka, on the other hand, persevered until he reached his hard-earned fifty, only to throw it away eventually after. He steamed one straight up in an attempt to damage Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Krunal Pandya wasn’t losing a clear.

Kuldeep and Pandya(Brother’s) remained Wicketless

After hitting 32 in the 28th over, Dhananjaya de Silva thrown away yet another opportunity, placing Sri Lanka at 134/4. It felt like the first ODI all over again. Having upwards of 10 overs to go, Sri Lanka just had 4 wickets in hand. Dasun Shanaka and Wanindu Hasaranga also got over without adding anything.

Charith Asalanka, on the other hand, had been batting brilliantly and had found a great companion in Chamika Karunaratne from the other side. The pair put up a 50-run partnership for the 7th wicket. Asalanka reached his half-century, while Chamika excelled with an unbroken 44 from 33 at the finish to help Sri Lanka reach 275 runs for the expense of 9 wickets.

Bhuvneshwar as well as Chahal both received 3 wickets for India, while Deepak Chahar got two. Krunal Pandya was again cautious with his lines as Kuldeep Yadav remained wicketless while surrendering 55 runs.

Sri Lanka had a good opportunity at 65/3, but India also has Pandey and the in-form Suryakumar Yadav in the midst. The players were undisturbed by the situation and smashed down runs with ease. Pandey’s 50-run stand was looked fearsome when things got bad. Shanaka pulled it back to it in his run through and the ball passed into the wickets, only to find Pandey out from the position.

Hardik Pandya was unable to contribute to the total, and the visitors were themselves in big trouble at 116/5 only after 18 overs. The necessary run rate was never an issue, but Sri Lanka’s wickets line was a source of concern, despite the fact that they had found a fresh start.

Deepak Chahar the ‘Player of the Match’

Suryakumar Yadav, on the other hand, was batting brilliantly at the other end, maintaining a strike rate of above 100 even when under attack. He reached his fifty in a lighthearted manner as if he were on an objective to return India to the home. He was ruled out lbw after missing a spinning ball from Lakshan Sandakan when on 53. Mostly with a score of 160, his wicket effectively ended the match. Krunal Pandya attempted to remain calm and controlled in the face of the danger, although it was Hasaranga who outsmarted him with a stunning ball.

India went out of the match at 193/7 when the left-hander was bowled. However, this is a new Indian side that continues to fight, Bhuvi 19 (28)and Deepak Chahar shown that attitude this time. Chahar with 2/53 (8) and 69*(82), as  ‘Player of the Match’.
