“He Is The Finest All-Round Player Of The Modern Era”- Salman Butt Praises ‘Virat Kohli’

When it comes to the finest batsman India has ever produced, Virat Kohli has to be in the top three. Sunil Gavaskar was India’s best batsman in the 1970s and 1980s, Sachin Tendulkar was the country’s most complete batsman in the 1990s and 2000s. Similarly, Kohli, from the present generation, has been on a run-scoring spree for as long as anybody can remember and is widely regarded as the finest batsman of the modern era -Salman Butt Praises Virat Kohli

“Virat Kohli, is the most impactful batsman in the world across all formats, he is the Best Captain”- Salman Butt Praises Virat Kohli

Kohli is often mentioned when the Fab 5 batsmen of the current generation from India are addressed. Former players and cricket commentators agree. Virat Kohli may have gone a year and a half without a century in international cricket, but Virat’s bat has produced plenty of runs. Former Pakistan skipper Salman Butt has praised him, calling him the finest all-round player of the modern era.

“I believe Virat Kohli is the most impactful batsman in the world across all formats. There is no doubt about that. His performances speak for themselves and have turned the results in his team’s favour,” Butt said during a Q/A session on his YouTube channel.

Kohli comes only in second place to the legendary Tendulkar in terms of most ODI century

It’s difficult to argue with Butt. Kohli averages 52.37 in Tests, 59.07 in ODIs, and 52.65 in T20Is, making him one of the few batters of his generation to do so in all three formats. Kohli also has the most international hundreds, with 70 tons across all formats. Kohli is second only to the legendary Tendulkar in terms of most ODI century with 43. Kohli is also the second-highest Indian ODI run-getter behind Tendulkar, with 12169 runs.

In one-day internationals, Kohli holds the world record for the fastest batsman reaching 8000, 9000, 10000, 11000, and 12,000 runs. Kohli has the greatest Test rating (937 points), ODI rating (911 points), and T20I rating among Indian batters (897 points).
