Hardik Pandya on captaincy: In this series, I’m only concentrating on what I do best

Hardik Pandya’s reputation as a professional cricketer had taken a severe hit less than eight months prior. He was not an all-around option for India’s white-ball sides. This was due to his long-standing back problem and its effects on his bowling. The change has been equally abrupt in that setting. Here in this article, we talk about What has been said by Hardik Pandya on captaincy.

Pandya led IPL rookies Gujarat Titans to a championship in their first season. Further, he developed his bowling fitness and demonstrated versatility in his batting roles. He has now become the captain of India amid growing rumors. Rumors say that he would be a worthy successor should the position ever require a permanent candidate.

Pandya stated of his new position, “I loved to take on duties before, and I still like to do them now. “I’ve consistently insisted that when given responsibility, I’ve performed well. The emphasis on taking control and making my own judgments persisted even when I wasn’t a captain, which helps me stay strong.

“Cricket is a sport where you have to maintain your composure under pressure. I believe that the obligations that were placed on me or that I have given to others have improved me. And I’ll make an effort to incorporate it into my captaincy as I learn how to delegate tasks to players while simultaneously fostering their confidence and situational management skills.

Even while other first-team regulars are on the other side of the Irish Sea getting ready for a very different task, Pandya has his leadership lens fixed on the two T20Is against Ireland, which serve as India’s building stones to the World Cup later this year.

I’m not in this to show anyone anything. I have the chance to lead India, which is a significant opportunity. I don’t pursue or engage in this activity to demonstrate something to anyone. So I’ll find out in the future whether I’m good enough. Other than that, I’m really just concentrating on what I can do best in this series.

Treat every game like the World Cup

On the eve of the tour opener in Malahide, Pandya remarked, “I’ve always mentioned one thing with the group, that this is a struggle to maintain yourself strong psychologically. It’s simple to assume that we are only competing with Ireland. I don’t need it, though. It gives us the highest satisfaction to be playing a game for India. Even the smallest match from here is significant if you want to win the World Cup.”

So that’s the first thing I told the players in our chat, “We simply need to concentrate on ourselves and treat this game as our biggest one. It doesn’t matter who we play against.”

Hardik Pandya disclosed his discussions with VVS Laxman, the team’s coach. The conversation focused on making sure that every match is treated as if it were a World Cup. The team culture is ingrained by Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid is upheld.

“The Indian squad has a lot of alternatives, and competition is fierce for positions. People in India can burst through doors rather than knock on them. People don’t get many opportunities since there is so much potential in Indian cricket playing in all formats. However, if we have two teams like this, many players will inevitably receive opportunities.
