Guyana Amazon Warriors To Play Against Barbados Tridents In The CPL 2019 Final

The final of the 2019 CPL will see Guyana Amazon Warriors play against Barbados Tridents at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba. Though the Warriors have already played the final four times, they are yet to win the trophy. They can, however, be called favorites.

Even as Barbados Tridents lost to Guyana Amazon Warriors, thanks to Brandon King, after defeating Trinbago Knight Riders twice in the league phase, this may give them an opportunity to win the trophy.

The Warriors will most likely go with the line-up that allowed them to defeat the Tridents at the Providence.

Key Players:

Brandon King: Brandon troubled Barbados when these two teams met last with an unbeaten 132. He would look to put another stellar performance

Chandrapaul Hemraj: Hemraj, the opening partner of Brandon, is in excellent nick.

Shoaib Malik: Malik with 313 runs at a strike rate of 78.25 will play a crucial role.

Johnson Charles: Charles, who has been the leading run-scorer this season, will have to play a vital knock.

Ashley Nurse: Nurse, if promoted up the batting order, can prove to be dangerous.

Raymon Reifer: Reifer can show his mettle with both the bat and ball.

Probable XIs

Barbados Tridents XI:

Alex Hales, Johnson Charles, Shakib Al Hasan, Shai Hope (wk), JP Duminy/Leniko Boucher, Jonathan Carter, Jason Holder (C), Raymon Reifer, Ashley Nurse, Hayden Walsh, Harry Gurney

Guyana Amazon Kings XI

Brandon King, Chandrapaul Hemraj, Shimron Hetmyer, Shoaib Malik (C), Nicholas Pooran (wk), Sherfane Rutherford, Chris Green, Keemo Paul, Romario Shepherd, Odean Smith Imran Tahir

As this match starts at 5 PM, dew is unlikely to play a major role. The track may assist the spinners. Since both teams have experienced spinners, the team winning the toss will opt to bat first. The chances of rain during the match are less. But it may get delayed, offering soggy playing conditions.
