Green Light From UK Government For Indian Players’ Families To Fly England For The Tour

Men and women cricketers from India will be eligible to come to the UK  with their families. The players’ families have been granted permission to accompany them on the long trip by the UK government. While the Virat Kohli-led team will face New Zealand in the WTC Final and then England in five Tests, the Indian Women’s team will just play one Test, three ODIs, and as many T20Is on the tour. UK government permits Indian players families to fly England for the tour.

The WTC Final an exemption from the country’s strict COVID protocols

UK government permits Indian players families to fly England for the tour. Some of the players’ families have already been quarantined in Mumbai, and the entire group is scheduled to fly to the UK on June 3. The players will be quarantined in Southampton before moving to Bristol for a one-off Test starting on June 16. The Men’s team, on the other hand, will remain in Southampton for the WTC Final.

The period of hard quarantine in Southampton has yet to be established, according to sources. It was stated a few days ago that the players will be permitted to practice at the stadium during quarantine.

The bio-safety protocols established for the event, in accordance with the government of the UK

Meanwhile, the International Cricket Council (ICC) revealed last week that the UK government allowed the WTC Final an exemption from the country’s strict COVID protocols. “The Indian Men’s team will arrive in the UK on 3 June 2021 on a charter flight and carrying confirmation of a negative PCR Test, as per the bio-safety protocols established for the event, in accordance with UK government and Public Health England requirements.

“Prior to traveling, the party will have spent 14 days in a bio-secure environment in India during which regular testing will have taken place. Upon landing, they will proceed directly to the on-site hotel at the Hampshire Bowl where they will be tested again before commencing a period of managed isolation,” the media release from ICC read.

On June 18, the WTC Final between India and New Zealand will begin, while the five-match Test series between India and England will begin on August 4.
