Cricketers have come forward in the fight against the deadly coronavirus and donated huge sums to the PM-Cares Relief Fund in India. Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir former cricketer and a Member of Parliament has made a significant contribution towards this. He has also called on every person in the country to cooperate as much as possible.

Amid the coronavirus crisis, the government extended the lockdown in the country until May 3. This is a significant setback for poor and needy people who rely on daily wages to meet their needs. The crisis has left the country, and the daily wage laborers in doldrums and the death toll is increasing day by day. So far, more than 1 million people worldwide have lost their lives. And, while waiting for the situation, the government had to take such a big step.

We can only win this war if we stand together, says Gambhir

In a recent interview, Gautam Gambhir requested that everyone in the country follow the guidelines to win the war on the killer virus. If the government wants everyone to stay indoors, it is crucial to follow their instructions,” he said.

“If we stand together, we can win this war, and the most important thing is to follow the guidelines. If we asked to stay at home and not leave our home under any circumstances, it is crucial to us following this, it is for the good of our country,” Gambhir said in an interview.

The former World Cup winner reads that there is no limit to donations. According to him, if a person donates a rupee with the right intentions, it can make a big difference to the country. “Since we are talking about donations, in my view, there is no limit to giving a person a rupee with the right emotion. This is a huge contribution. The 38-year-old added.

So far, Gautam Gambhir himself has donated a total of INR 2 Cr (1 Cr to the Delhi Government + 1 Cr to the Central Relief Fund) and has since pledged two years of his salary to the PM Cares Fund.
