A bit too much- Brett Lee:

The game of gentlemen with creativity has been constant. It is now T20 cricket on the international stage from the beginning of Test Cricket. And lately, there has been a debate about a T20 match split into four innings, but either Gautam Gambhir or Brett Lee, the former Australian speedster was not impressed.

When the former-cricket spoke about the idea with the media Cricket Linked series, they both rejected the concept. Although Lee said he wished to maintain traditional things, Gambhir said that Sachin Tendulkar’s concept of dividing a 50 overs, also took the ‘toss factor’ away, was far more meaningful according to him.

I’m Not A Big Believer That We Should Split T20 Cricket Into Two Innings- Gautam Gambhir:

Commenting on the suggestions, “I am all for T20 cricket it is either the Indian Premier League or the Big Bash League. For that, players have minimum knowledge about the T20 matches and want some excitement to bring people to the match. When it comes to cricket there are somethings that you want to keep traditional. I think having 4 innings is a little too much. I still think it’s good to still see a target and try to chase it or protect it.”

“I’m not a major believer that we need to split T20 cricket into two innings. I guess, somewhere Sachin Tendulkar suggested we should try with 50 over, which is very useful because you have 25 overheads each”, Gambhir echoed the sentiments and said.

“It probably also takes off a toss, because in some situations the toss is very necessary. I always felt very much in favor of that. It’s too short in a match and there’s no time for T20 cricket, though. It would be too short for an inning to break into 10 for each.
